TACOMA, WA — September 19, 2023 — The Tacoma-Pierce County Affordable Housing Consortium (AHC), a membership-based nonprofit dedicated to advocating and educating for the expansion of affordable housing across Pierce County, WA, is thrilled to announce the launch of nominations for its 2024 Board of Directors. AHC is inviting nominations exclusively from its dedicated members who are eager to make an impact in affordable housing in the community.


AHC remains steadfast in its mission to drive transformative change through community education, advocacy, and the provision of resources, all aimed at advancing affordable, accessible, and discrimination-free housing. In a world where everyone deserves a place they can truly call home, AHC is taking the lead in pursuing this noble mission.

For members of AHC who share the organization's passion for affordable housing and possess the necessary skills to govern a small nonprofit effectively, AHC encourages them to consider nominating themselves for a position on the AHC Board of Directors. AHC is actively seeking dynamic leaders who not only believe in the organization's mission but also aim to leverage their networks to raise awareness, attract followers, and secure essential funds to support AHC's critical initiatives.


Key Dates for the Nominations and Voting Process:

Nominations Open: September 18, 2023, through October 2, 2023

Voting Period: October 6, 2023, to October 20, 2023


This year, AHC introduces the convenience of online voting. Eligible AHC members will receive an email with instructions and a link to cast their ballot when the voting period commences. It is essential to ensure your eligibility by October 5, 2023, and to be the designated voting member for your organization.


To nominate yourself or fellow AHC members as strong board candidates, please visit our secure online nomination portal. Before submitting your nomination, we encourage you to review all relevant Board of Directors documents. All potential Board members must adhere to our established Board policies.

AHC's Nominating Committee will compile a slate of nominees and send out ballots to AHC members for voting by October 6, 2023. Each organizational member is entitled to one vote, with 1/3 of the voting membership required to approve the slate. Elected Directors will assume office on January 1, 2024, for a three-year term.
