About the Event

The Comprehensive Plan is a county or city's legally binding planning document that sets the stage for day-to-day functions and long-term standards such as housing, transportation, public facilities, land use, and more. In 2021, the State of WA passed two bills that directly impact affordable housing. HB 1110 establishes requirements for middle housing and HB 1220 requires counties and jurisdictions to "plan for and accommodate" for affordable housing. Requirements of both bills will need to be met in the upcoming 2024 Comprehensive Plan updates.

Join us in welcoming back Erika Rhett Hunt, Long Range Planner for Pierce County. She will give an overview of Pierce County's Comprehenisve Plan and how the County is planning to meet the requirements of HB 1110 and HB 1220.
