About the Event
Understanding Housing Access in Pierce County is a public forum focused on the historical and present-day policies that have shaped housing inequities in our region. This half-day gathering will explore how practices like redlining and racially restrictive covenants have created lasting disparities, and how local governments, advocates, and communities are working toward a more equitable future.
The event will feature dynamic presentations, policy conversations, and a community dialogue centered on housing justice. Participants will walk away with a deeper understanding of Pierce County’s housing landscape, concrete examples of racial equity in policy and practice, and actions they can take to drive change in their own work.
Whether you’re a housing advocate, public agency partner, community leader, or concerned resident, this forum is for you!
Tickets are free, and we encourage everyone to attend. If you’re able, we welcome contributions to help offset the cost of hosting this important event and to support AHC in continuing to bring educational opportunities like this to our community.
