Long-Range Planners from the City of Tacoma will join us for a presentation about the Home in Tacoma program, what this means for housing in Tacoma, and how the community can give their input during the City's public comment period.

About the Event
Based on requirements from the Growth Management Act (GMA), counties and jurisdictions in Washington are required to conduct a periodic update of their comprehensive plans, the next update taking place in 2024. The passage of HB 1220 and HB 1110, require cities to accomodate and plan for affordable housing in a number of ways.
The City of Tacoma is incorporating these housing requirements into it's Home in Tacoma project and the City seeks the input of the community! Alyssa Torrez and Elliott Barnett, Long Range Planners for the City of Tacoma, will give an overview of the Home in Tacoma plans and explain how residents can contribute to the public engagement period.
