Join us and Governor Ferguson’s Senior Policy Advisor for Housing, Nicholas Carr, to give input on prioritization for a two-year housing strategy! The Governor’s office has committed to building hundreds of thousands of new housing units for both renters and homeowners to close the gap in the expected need of over one million new homes by 2044.
Housing is an ecosystem, and this roundtable is an opportunity to communicate the current gaps in that ecosystem to ensure we hit that goal. Through policy, programming, incentives, and financing, there is an opportunity for Washington state to become a leader in achieving tangible outcomes for its residents.
To frame the conversation and proposals already conceptualized, Nicholas Carr will present a draft strategy to elicit conversation focused on the categories below:
Land
Financing
Permitting and Construction
Economic Stability
Ecosystem Responsiveness/New Community Design
Big Ideas, Innovation, and Calculated Risk
3:00 PM: Presentation
3:45 PM: Breakout groups
4:15 PM: Discussion and work group formation
