 PhotoApply for NEW programs
To better serve Washington families in challenging economic times, additional DSHS programs are now available in the Benefit Finder including: Family Medical, Cash Grants - Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) and General Assistance for the Unemployable (GAU).  These programs can improve financial stability for very limited income families. 
 

 
PhotoResources to help families with basic needs
Help families find programs to pay for energy bills, telephone and housing. Connect clients with Energy Assistance Programs, subsidized cell or landline phone service and  rental assistance.    Learn More
 
PhotoNEW dental health resources for families
In partnership with Washington Dental Service Foundation’s ABCD program (Access to Child and Baby Dentistry), ParentHelp123.org has new children’s dental health information in English and Spanish. Community dental resources for children and families are also available in the Professionals section.

 

PhotoFind free tax preparation sites
Help families learn where to get their  taxes done for free and whether they may be eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Child Tax Credit .

Did you and other adults you know get immunized? Did your children under age 9 get their second dose? There is plenty of seasonal and H1N1 flu vaccine available now.

Congress extends COBRA subsidy:  Workers who qualify for the COBRA subsidy due to an involuntary job loss between Sept. 1, 2008 and Feb. 28, 2010, may get COBRA coverage for 35 percent of the total premium.  Congress recently increased the maximum period to receive the subsidy to 15 months.    Learn more about the COBRA subsidy
